Fire Grids

The fire resistance in a building is determined by the time in which the different rooms or sections can prevent the spread of a fire. Partitioning is therefore an important element to prevent the spread of fire sources and to keep a fire under control.

By using fire-resistant walls and ceilings, the fire cannot spread in surrounding zones.

Correct air circulation is essential for daily life in buildings, but you must check and close the air circulation during a fire.

Special fire grids are used for this reason. They ensure good air circulation through the zones that you have fire-resistant sectioned.

Fire grids are composed of a series of different horizontal, intumescent sheets. These intumescent sheets are placed along the length of the window, made of the same material as the room or out of metal. The distance between the blades has been calculated to ensure maximum ventilation, but during the fire, the fire grates can guarantee safety by obtaining an absolute density.

All our fire grills comply with the European standards NEN 6069 and NEN-EN 1366-3 and have a fire-resistant effect of 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the model.

Features and techniques

  • The fire grids are composed of intumescent protecting sheets
  • Depending on the models, the expansion starts at temperatures between 120°C and 150°C
  • It takes less than 5 minutes to achieve a total density between the blades
  • Available in standard sizes and on request, specific sizes are available (from 100 to 800 mm in width and from 100 to 400 mm in height)
  • The fire grids have a fire-resistant effect of fire grilles from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the model.
  • The fire grids can be used in pressure less systems (natural ventilation)
  • All our fire grids comply with the European standards NEN 6069 and NEN-EN 1366-3.

Experience and knowledge

Mr Christiaan Vogt has been active in all aspects of fire safety for more than 15 years. With his company Fire-Proof, he is still one of the leading companies in that sector.

In addition to using the autoclave and its own Burnstop product, Fire-Proof also supplies the following products that ensure optimum fire resistance, fire repression, flame delaying, fire prevention and partitioning.
